メモ① haveの使い方
「所有（～を持っている）」を表す動詞 have は、英単語の中でも最も基礎的なもの（かつ重要なもの）の１つですが、「否定文・疑問文」の作り方には注意が必要です。
［否定文］
(a) I do not [don’t] have any money.
(b) I have not got any money.
(c) I have not any money.
(b), (c)型とも縮約形haven’tがふつう
［疑問文］
(a) Do you have any money?
(b) Have you got any money?
(c) Have you any money?
(a)型はもとは〈米〉だが、今では〈英〉でもふつう。(b)型は〈主に英略式〉であるが、〈米略式〉でも用いる。(c)型は〈英正式〉だが、今ではややまれ。特に過去時制ではこの傾向が強い。

英語学習者としてまず身につけるべきなのは (a) の型です（否定文・疑問文を作るのに do [does, did] を用いる）。ただし、(b) や (c) の型もあるということも知っておきましょう。今回の「アリス」本文では、(c) の型の「否定文」が用いられていました。
